Ishmael L. Johnson, 71, of Fort Gay, WV went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, June 5, 2021 at his home.

Ishmael was born November 22, 1949 in Ranor, WV to the late Lewis Jackson and Sylvia (Stafford) Johnson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Norma Jean Presley Johnson; daughter Norma Jean Johnson; son Wesley J. Johnson; and brothers Johnny Stafford, Malen Johnson and Van Johnson.

Ishmael loved the Lord and was a faithful Christian. He was a retired Laborer from Laborers Local 543 in Huntington, WV.

Survivors include his son and daughter in law Ishmael and Pamela Johnson; grandson Caleb Johnson; brothers Joseph Johnson and Homer Johnson; sister Hope Adams, and wife Nannie Ward Johnson.

Funeral services will be conducted Monday, June 7, 2021 at 2:00 PM in the Young Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Joseph Johnson and Pastor Caleb Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in the Church of God in Christ Jesus Cemetery.

Friends may visit the family on Sunday, June 6, 2021 from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM in the Young Funeral Home.

Young Funeral Home has been entrusted with the care of Mr. Johnson and his family.
