Irene Meek Mollett

 1927 — 2016 

Irene Meek Mollett, 88, of Louisa, Kentucky passed away Tuesday, July 5, 2016 at her home.

Irene was born December 12, 1927 in Tomahawk, Kentucky a daughter of the late Shadie B. and Ethel Swain Meek. She was a homemaker and loved to quilt and do needle point. Irene was a member of Friendship Church. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, James E. Mollett; daughter, Emma Jean Preston; son, Freddie Allen Mollett; brother, Eugene Meek; and sisters, Mary Yvonne Meek and Glory Swanson Mollett.

Survivors include, two daughters, Burnice Jarrell of Louisa, Kentucky; Josie (Glen) McIntosh of Springfield, Ohio; sons, Lewis E. Mottett of Louisa, Kentucky; Larry (Ceclia) Mollett of Summerfield, Florida; Alex (Carol) Mollett of Columbus, Ohio; James A. (Judy) Mollett of Lawrenceburg, Kentucky; Joe (Robin) Mollett of Springfield, Ohio; John Mollett of Springfield, Ohio; James A. Mollett of Louisa, Kentucky and Samuel L. Mollett also of Louisa, Kentucky; brother, Roger Dean Meek of Greenville, South Carolina; sisters, Peggy Joyce Osborne of Paintsville, Kentucky; Mandy Sue (Walter) Dutton of Tomahawk, Kentucky; Carrie (David) Loudin of Anderson, South Carolina; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted 11:30 am Friday, July 8, 2016 at Young Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor John Goble officiating. Burial will follow at the Mollett Family Cemetery, Yellow Creek Rd., Louisa, Ky.

Visitation will be 6:00 until 9:00 PM Thursday, July 7, 2016 at Young Funeral Home Chapel.
