Martin Co. Jailers vehicle that was carjacked by Mark Crouch on Monday in Lawrence County. Crouch is considered dangerous by police

BOLO issued in search for ‘dangerous’ escapee

Investigators out of Martin County are looking for an inmate who escaped custody from a law enforcement vehicle today. Officers say Mark Crouch escaped by assaulting a deputy jailer on Monday evening and then proceeded to steal his vehicle.

Crouch was previously charged with burglary and possession of a handgun by a convicted felon.

Mark Crouch The car is a gray, Ford Crown Victoria. The older model car reads MARTIN COUNTY JAILER in white letters on the side.

The last time the vehicle was seen was on Route 581 in Lawrence County.

Crouch was arrested several hours ago according to the Martin County sheriff’s department. At the time of the carjacking, the deputy jailer was taking Crouch to the Big Sandy Regional Detention Center in Paintsville.

Crouch is considered to be dangerous and officers ask for him not to be approached. If you see Crouch or the vehicle please call 911 immediately with the location or the Sheriffs Department at 606-298-2828.

Martin Co. Sheriff John Kirk: Mark Allen Crouch has escaped from a Martin County Jail Transport person. He was last seen in a gray crown Vic. These are pictures of him. He has a tattoo on his right neck with Riley and Elisha on his left forearm. Chest area is heavily tatted with Ohio State at the top. He is considered dangerous. He was last seen handcuffed. The sheriff wishes to inform the public that anyone helping or aiding this fugitive, will be prosecuted. He is approximately 6'2" and was last seen wearing shorts, hat and glasses. He also goes by Mark Mills as an alias.
