IMPORTANT MESSAGE FROM THE CITY OF LOUISA.

EXECUTIVE ORDER 20-1 ESTABLISHING COVID 19 RESPONSE PLAN

CURRENT STATUS -LEVEL 2

In regards to the recent (COVID-19) pandemic we wanted to share with you the steps that the city is taking to help protect the health and safety of our citizens and employees.

We will continue to monitor state, local, and national reports on the evolving impact of COVID-19. We will base our safety precautions on factual information from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), the World Health Organization, as well as state and local public health agencies.

We feel it is important to be proactive and not reactive regarding the situation. With that being said, The City of Louisa has developed a response plan that will help ensure our employees remain healthy so we can continue to provide reliable City and water/sewer service to our service areas.

We ask that citizens and customers do not panic during this time. This is a time to be aware, not afraid.

The City and Utilities Department is currently operating at a Level 2 status. We will notify citizens if/when a status level is changed via local news agencies and social media.

Level 2 – Increased sanitation of our offices. Disinfectant wipes/hand sanitizers available for Citizens and Employees visiting City Hall and the Utilities Office. We ask citizens to limit office visits voluntarily, especially if you are sick (We offer a variety of ways to pay your Water bills: by mail, on line, by phone, and deposit drop box. In addition, you can also start and stop service via our website). If you have any questions regarding these options, please contact our utilities business office. Visitors are restricted from entering the Water Treatment Plant and Wastewater Treatment Plant as these facilities and their employees are of essential importance to the General Public.

Executive Order 20-1 Will suspend water shutoffs temporarily for 30 days to allow all citizens and customers to practice good hygiene. Late Fees and charges will continue to accrue on all accounts.

Complete copy of the order and response plan is available at https://www.cityoflouisa.org/covid-19-response

Online Bill pay available at https://louisa.utilitydistrict.com

Thank you

Harold E. Slone, Mayor
