Hughie Roberts 

1950 — 2016

Hughie Roberts 66 of Louisa, KY went to be with the Lord on Sunday July 31, 2016 at The Jordan Center.

Hughie was born May 19, 1950 in Louisa, the son of the late Hugh H. “Buttermilk” Roberts and Elizabeth Hall Roberts. Hughie was also preceded in death by a sister Dolly Jean Holt.

He was a heavy equipment operator and carpenter. Hughie loved the Lawrence County Bulldogs and attended and supported them for many years. He loved to fish and was the co-founder of the Yatesville Lake Fish and Game Club. He loved his church family at the Meades Branch FWB Church.

Survivors include his loving wife of 21 years Maddlene Pack Roberts; his son Joshua Roberts of Louisa, a step son Jerry Timothy Marcum and wife Nellie also of Louisa; two step daughters Kim and Melissa Marcum of Georgetown, KY; a sister and brother-in-law Julie and Charles Crabtree; four grandchildren Jacob, Sarah, Anna, and Nara; four nieces Amy Stepp and husband Eric, Michelle Johnson and husband Keith, Tammi Jo Adams, and Jenny Boggs; a nephew Charles Crabtree and wife Martha; and a very special buddy Doug “Bulldog” Vanhoose.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday Aug. 3at 2:00 pm at the Meades Branch FWB Church with Rev. Darrin Rice and Rev. Michael Horn officiating. Burial will follow in the Roberts Family Cemetery, McClure Branch Road Louisa.  Friends may visit the family on Tuesday Aug. 2 from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm and after 11:00 am on Wednesday at the Meades Branch FWB Church. 

Care has been entrusted to Wilson Funeral Home.
