He was elected by his fellow caucus members to serve as the House Republican Campaign Chairman where he was in charge of overseeing all Republican recruitment for the 2016 House elections. Rep. Shell is a native of his district and helps run his family farm in Lancaster.

David Meade, Majority Caucus Chair was first elected to represent District 80 (Lincoln, part of Pulaski County) in 2012. In 2016, he served on the Appropriations & Revenue, Banking & Insurance, State Government, and Veterans, Military Affairs, & Public Safety Committees. Rep. “I’m excited to work with this group of incredibly qualified and motivated leaders,” said Speaker-Elect Hoover. “Alongside Senate President Robert Stivers and Governor Bevin, we will begin work immediately to determine the best path for Kentuckians. Through new ideas and a fresh direction, the Commonwealth is poised for great things.”

Both Speaker-Elect Jeff Hoover and Speaker Pro David Osborne will be fully elected by the entire House body on January 3, 2017 before officially taking office.
