HIGHER THAN THE REAR END OF A GIRAFFE!

LOUISA MAN FOUND WANDERING IN RURAL AREA OF LAWRENCE COUNTY, STARTLING WOMAN ON HER PROPERTY, IN SOME STATE OF ‘QUASI-RELIGIOUS FERVOR’

SUSPECT BECAME HOSTILE AND SELF-ABUSING AFTER BEING TAKEN INTO CUSTODY ON WAY TO BE TREATED AT HOSPITAL

SEPTEMBER 13, 2018 – written by WADE QUEEN

NATHANIEL M. PACK

A Louisa man was arrested after deputies said after he first trespassed on a woman’s property, and was later found wandering about and in state of “severe incoherence”.

According to Lawrence County Sheriff’s deputies, on Sunday afternoon, September 9, they responded to a 911 call by a woman in the north Route 3 area between Louisa and Fallsburg area. They stated that the woman, whom the officers did not identify, reported that a man she did not know, who was later identified as Nathaniel M. Pack, 34, of Louisa, came on her property asking, “If she was right with God”. Pack then stated to the woman that “he was going to set her free.”

Deputies said the woman told them that Nathaniel Pack had gone toward state Highway 1185.

The deputies reported that when they found Pack, he was overly animated and was talking in gibberish and in random sentences. They said he was under the heavy state of influence of some unknown nature .

The officers said when they took Pack to Three Rivers Medical Center for treatment he headbutted part of the cruiser, causing the speaker to short out.

The responding deputy also said Pack hit him while he was trying to get him out of the vehicle at the hospital.

Nathaniel Pack was arrested at 4:24 P.M. and taken into custody by sergeant Chuck Jackson of the Lawrence County Sheriff Department, and was charged with: • PUBLIC INTOXICATION-CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE (EXCLUDES ALCOHOL), • CRIMINAL TRESPASSING-3RD DEGREE, • WANTON ENDANGERMENT-2ND DEGREE-POLICE OFFICER, • CRIMINAL MISCHIEF 3RD DEGREE.

Nathaniel Pack remains incarcerated at the Big Sandy Regional Detention Center in Paintsville as of late Wednesday night.

Pack has a sizable criminal history in Lawrence County, with at least 10 arrests on 18 criminal charges in just over the past 6 years, including felony DUIs ( more than four), and also felony marijuana cultivation and cocaine possession charges in 2017.
