1930 – 2016

Damron Helen copyHelen Short-Damron, 86 of Louisa passed away on Friday, July 8, 2016 at the Kansas City Hospice House in Kansas City, MO.

She was born in Louisa, Kentucky on January 21, 1930 to the late Ray and Eva Thompson-Short. Helen was a beautician for 65 years and owned Helen’s Beauty Salon in Louisa for many years. She was a member of the Church of Christ and attended the Louisa First Baptist Church.

Besides her parents Mrs. Damron was preceded in death in by her husband Harry Damron, one daughter Suzi Damron and one son Harry Wright Damron, II.

She leaves behind a loving family including a daughter Patricia Damron and her husband Doug Wyatt ; two grandsons Trenton Wright Damron and Michael Caleb Farley; one great grandson Bronson Wright Damron; three brothers Carl Short, Bill Short and his wife Brenda and Kermit “Lum” Gene Short; one sister Laura Jane Fyffe (Charles); a daughter-in-law Rita Damron-Yates as well as many extended family members and friends all of whom will cherish her memory.

Funeral Services will be held at the Young Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday, July 13, 2016 at 11:00 am with Pastor Chuck Price and Dr. Norman Edwards officiating. Burial will follow at the Short Cemetery. Visitation will be at the Young Funeral Home on Tuesday, July 12, 2016 from 5-9 pm.
