KENTUCKY STATE POLICE ARREST PIKE COUNTY, KY. WOMAN ON MAJOR DRUG AND GUN CHARGES

CAREER CRIMINAL FOUND WITH LARGE ILLEGAL CONTRABAND; BUT HER STAY IN THE COUNTY JAIL DID NOT LAST LONG

JUNE 27, 2023 – written by WADE QUEEN

YOU WOULD HAVE A BIG SMILE TOO IF YOU GOT OUT OF THE COUNTY GRAYBAR HOTEL AFTER GETTING CAUGHT WITH THIS MUCH ILLEGAL STUFF (AND BEING ALSO A SERIOUS CONVICTED FELON): SASHA JAN SWORD, 35, OF VIRGIE, KY., WHO WAS ARRESTED BY KENTUCKY STATE POLICE AFTER AN INVESTIGATION YIELDED THE DISCOVERY EVIDENCE OF A MAJOR DRUG DEALING OPERATION AT HER HOME.

A well known southeastern Kentucky female criminal with a significant crime history is back in trouble again, after being incarcerated in prison for several years, though on her latest arrest on serious charges, she was allowed to bond out of jail a few days later.

On Friday, June 16, troopers from the Kentucky State Police Post 9 in Pikeville, KY. arrested a Pike County, KY. woman after a large amount of illegal drugs were discovered at her residence in the Virgie area community of Pike County.

Kentucky State Police went to the home of Sasha Jan Sword, 35, of Virgie, KY., who was the subject of a drug investigation. After troopers conducted a “knock-and-talk” at the home’s front door, and then getting her permission to search the residence, the troopers, while conducting a search of the home, approximately one pound of suspected Methamphetamine, two ounces of suspected Fentanyl, and twelve ounces of hallucinogenic mushrooms were seized.  Additionally, quantities of Marijuana, drug paraphernalia, twelve (12) firearms (3 shotguns & 9 handguns, of which were one revolver and 8 semi-automatic pistols), and approximately $4,000 in cash were seized from Ms. Sword’s residence.

Sasha Sword was arrested and lodged in the Pike County Detention Center in Pikeville on six (6) charges, of which are the following:
  • TRAFFICKING IN CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE, 1ST DEGREE, 1ST OFFENSE – (> OR = 2 GRAMS METHAMPHETAMINE),
  • POSSESSION  CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE 1ST DEGREE 1ST OFFENSE (HEROIN),
  • TRAFFICKING IN MARIJUANA ( LESS THAN 8 OZ.) 1ST OFFENSE,
  • POSSESSION OF HANDGUN BY CONVICTED FELON,
  • POSSESSION OF FIREARM BY CONVICTED FELON,
  • DRUG PARAPHERNALIA – BUY/POSSESS.
Sasha Jan Sword has since been released on an unsecured bond on Monday June 19, three days after her arrest.

Yelp. You read that right.

Sasha Sword got out of jail three days after getting busted for a major drug & guns operation, but is a convicted felon, who before her latest arrest, had served twice  in a state prison; first time nearly a year, followed by the next time for several years, after getting arrested at least 33 times (nearly all in Pike County) on at least 130 felony, misdemeanor, and motor vehicle traffic charges between April 2006 and August 2016.
Drug tips can be reported to investigators at Kentucky State Police Post 09 in Pikeville by calling (606) 433-7711. Callers can remain anonymous.
