Gracie Kelly Joins Kentucky League of Cities as Government Affairs Director

FRANKFORT, KY – The Kentucky League of Cities is honored to welcome Gracie Kelly as the Director of Government Affairs. Kelly will lead KLC’s advocacy efforts on behalf of cities in the Kentucky General Assembly, the state executive branch, and with the federal government.

Kelly comes to KLC from the Kentucky Association of Counties (KACo) where she served as the Associate Director of Government Affairs. She is a graduate of the University of Louisville with a degree in Political Science and will complete her Juris Doctor degree from Northern Kentucky University – Salmon P. Chase College of Law in December.

KLC Executive Director/CEO J.D. Chaney expressed his excitement at adding Kelly to the KLC team.

“We’re thrilled to welcome Gracie to KLC. She is an incredibly talented and respected professional that brings a wealth of local government knowledge, advocacy experience, and top-notch relationships to the position.  I am confident that under her leadership KLC will further enhance its representation of Kentucky’s cities in the legislative and regulatory arenas,” Chaney said. “I look forward to working alongside Gracie as our cities continue to deliver on the promise of a brighter future for Kentucky.”

KLC board of director member and Louisa, Ky. mayor Harold Slone welcomed Ms. Kelly to the organization. “I’m very excited to work with Gracie and believe she will be a tremendous asset to our team going forward,” Slone told The Lazer.

Gracie Kelly shared her enthusiasm for joining KLC, saying, “I’m honored to join the Kentucky League of Cities and work with such a dedicated team supporting Kentucky’s cities. Together, we’ll be a strong voice for policies that empower local communities and help them thrive. I look forward to collaborating with leaders across the state and nation to overcome challenges, seize new opportunities, and make a lasting difference in the lives of Kentuckians.”

The Kentucky League of Cities serves as the united voice of cities by supporting community innovation, effective leadership and quality governance.
