Hogan will fill role at no additional cost to taxpayers; local governments will have direct access to Goforth-Hogan Administration

“Mike will save taxpayers’ money by earning no additional salary to fulfill this role, and he will operate out of the Office of the Governor on the First Floor of the Capitol, Goforth, right, said.

LOUISVILLE- Rep. Robert Goforth (R-East Bernstadt), who is challenging Gov. Matt Bevin in the May 21st Republican Primary, announced this afternoon at the Kentucky Magistrates & Commissioners Association Spring Conference at the Marriott Louisville Downtown that his running mate for Lieutenant Governor, Mike Hogan, will serve as Commissioner of the Department for Local Government in a Goforth-Hogan Administration.

Hogan is currently serving in his fifth consecutive term as County Attorney in Lawrence County in Northeast Kentucky.

“Mike will save taxpayers’ money by earning no additional salary to fulfill this role, and he will operate out of the Office of the Governor on the First Floor of the Capitol.  All of Kentucky’s county judge/executives, magistrates, commissioners, and other local officials will have direct access to the Lieutenant Governor who will also be the DLG Commissioner.  They won’t be treated as a number or a burden, and they’ll have direct access to someone that has been elected by the people,” Goforth said.

“I come out of the ranks of local officials, and I have lived their struggles on a daily basis for over sixteen years—I know what they have to deal with.  I want to be a friend to and voice for all local governments in all 120 counties.  They deserve to have an administration that listens and that is accessible,” said Hogan.

“This is one of the ways that we’re going to change the course of the last four years in Kentucky, and it will be one of many.  Together, we’re going to replace the heavy hand of Matt Bevin with leadership that listens and is responsive to Kentuckians,” Goforth said.

He hasn’t done much toward what he has been paid to do for the last 8 years or so and has hardly been in his office for several years. What make people think he will do any better at the Commissioner of the Department for Local Government. He is rude to people and treats them like they are subpar people when he gets tired of dealing with them. Sure hope Kentucky doesn’t make a mistake like Lawrence County has.
