George Stanley Sanders

1943 — 2017

George Stanley Sanders, 74, of Fort Gay, WV passed away Monday, August 14, 2017 at his home.

George was born July 11, 1943 in Vanceburg, Kentucky a son of the late Ithel and Catherine Day Sanders. He was a member of Smith Chapel Church. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one brother, Denny Sanders.

Survivors include, his children, Irene Brown of Ashland, Ohio; Beth Borders of Ulysses, Kentucky; George Stanley Jr., of Fort Gay, WV; Amanda Caseman of Louisa, Kentucky; brothers, Rick Sanders, Ernie Sanders, Darrell Sanders, Benny Sanders and Jim Sanders; sisters, Shirley Stevens and Sue Ella Crisco; 9 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 am Wednesday, August 16, 2017 at Young Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Joseph Johnson and Pastor Noah Robertson officiating. Burial will follow at the Church of God in Christ Jesus Cemetery.

Visitation will be held 6:00 – 8:00 PM Tuesday at Young Funeral Home Chapel.
