George Earl Hardwick, 73, of Fort Gay, WV went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, March 2, 2023 at his home following a brief illness.

George was born November 8, 1949 to the late Ray J. and Marie (Wellman) Hardwick of Fort Gay, WV. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother Joseph Hardwick and a sister Mary Ellen Hardwick Salyers.

George was a retired construction worker, loved being outside in the garden and playing cards. He was of the Baptist Faith.

Survivors include his wife Lynn Stamper Hardwick of Dunlow, WV; a daughter Becky Jean Honeycutt of Dunlow, WV; 4 grandchildren Hazel Honeycutt, Devin Honeycutt, Joelynn Honeycutt, and Ella Green; sisters Ann (Ralph) Wellman of Webbville, KY, twin sister Rose Moore of Beaver, OH, Donna Sue (Gary) Cox of Cardington, OH; brothers Charles (Oma) Hardwick of Fort Gay, WV, Harold (Debbie) Hardwick of Barboursville, WV; along with many extended family and friends who will miss him dearly.

Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, March 5, 2023 at 2:00 PM in the Young Funeral Home Chapel with Brother John Hardwick officiating. Burial will follow in the Charles Hardwick Cemetery.

Friends may visit the family Saturday, March 4, 2023 from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM in the Young Funeral Home Chapel.

Young Funeral Home has been entrusted with the care of Mr. Hardwick and his family.
