1933 – 2016

Fed Parsons obit picFred Wendell Parsons, age 83, of Fort Gay, WV entered into rest Thursday, June 23, 2016 at his home in Fort Gay. 

Mr. Parsons was born April 11, 1933 in Fort Gay, WV to the late Fred and Willie Belle (Moore) Parsons.  He was preceded in death by his sister, Doris Parsons-Kits, and son in Law John R Tucker.

He is survived by his wife: Kathryn (Kitts) Parsons, four daughters; Frankie Lynn Parsons-Tucker of Ashland, KY, Teresa Sue Parsons-Brown and husband Rick of Bremen, IN, Mary Belle Parsons-Thompson and husband David of Fort Gay, WV, Netta Parsons-Webb and husband Ronnie of Louisa, KY; two sons: Fred Wendell Parsons, Jr. and wife Sherry of Prichard, WV, Greg Parsons and wife Connie of Cattletsburg, KY, ten grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren; a special niece, Kathy Lou Kitts of Fort Gay, WV, and a special friend, Herman Crabtree.

He served in both the Army and the Navy during the Korean War, was a retired machinist from CSX Railroad, and a member of Rush Branch Baptist Church

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 pm, Sunday, June 26 at Wilson Funeral Home with Rev. Travis Perry officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery, Louisa, KY. 

Friends may call from 12:00pm until time of services at the funeral home.

Care has been entrusted to Wilson Funeral Home.
