Frances Wheeler Carter, 91, of Rush, KY went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, June 25, 2022 at Kings Daughters Medical Center.

Frances was born January 29, 1931 in Lawrence County, KY to the late Mont and Stella (Justice) Wheeler. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Gorman Dee Carter and her siblings Ithel Austin, Ina Dunbar, Eugene Wheeler, and Rhoda Emma Yates.

Frances was a member of Garret Chapel Church. She was a homemaker and loved spending time with her family. Frances loved to quilt and garden. She and her husband were dairy farmers and she loved being a farmer’s wife. She was a master negotiator and loved to haggle for a bargain. Frances was a member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary and the Boyd County Homemakers.

Survivors include her children Gary (Nancy) Carter and Melinda Quesenberry; grandchildren Amanda Carter and Andrea Carter; sister Billie Jean Massie; brother Mont Wheeler, Jr.; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, June 28, 2022 at 2:00 PM at the Young Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Robert Kelley officiating. Burial will follow Yatesville Memorial Gardens.

Friends may visit the family on Tuesday, June 28, 2022 from 12:00 PM until time of service at the Young Funeral Home Chapel.

Young Funeral Home has been entrusted with the care of Mrs. Carter and her family.
