Frances Athington

1938 – 2016

Frances Athington 78 of Edmond, OK formerly of Lawrence County passed away Friday June 17, 2016 in Morrisville, NC following a brief illness.

Frances was born Feb. 9, 1938 in Lawrence County, the daughter of the late Harkles and Anna Mae Kirk Athington. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by a grandson Austin Golafshan, and two sisters Ethel Borders and Dorothy Scott.  She was a retired Physcology Director and member of the Westport Road Church of Christ.

Survivors include four sons Robert A. Burns, David R. Burns and wife Lana, Ted A. Burns, and Greg P. Burns and wife Mindi; two daughters Debra Golafshan and husband Shahrokh and Elizabeth Anne Hill, two sisters Gladys McDaniel and  JoAnn  VanHoose; 13 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday June 19th at 3:00 pm at the Wilson Funeral Home with Rev. Chris Wilson officiating.  Burial will follow in the Athington Cemetery at Lowmansville, KY.

Friends may visit the family on Sunday from 1:00 pm to time of services at the Wilson Funeral Home.
