Fort Gay, W. Va. — In a battle of future Rebels the Fort Gay Vikings beat the Crum Mountaineers 42-22 on Thursday in middle school football action.

Mr. Rebel Virgil Ward talks to both teams after the game on Thursday.

On the first drive of the game the Vikings scored on an 11 yard touchdown run from Kyndal Kincaid and Braylon Conn connected with Kincaid for the two point conversion and it was 8-0 Fort Gay.

After a Crum punt Kincaid found the end zone once again this time from 8 yards out and Conn hit Axel Jude for the two point conversion and it was 16-0 Vikings.

After a Crum turnover Kincaid scored on a 13 yard touchdown run and Braylon Stumbo added the two point conversion for a 24-0 Fort Gay lead.

On the ensuing kickoff Trevor Copley went untouched for a 58 yard touchdown and Copley found Nathan Messer in the back of the end zone for the two point conversion and it was 24-8 Fort Gay

After big return set up Fort Gay deep into Crum territory Conn went 7 yards on a QB keeper but the extra point was no good and it was 30-8 Vikings.

Right before the half Stumbo raced in from 24 yards out and it was 36-8 Fort Gay at the half.

In the third quarter Conn scored again from 7 yards out and once again the Vikings missed the extra point kick and it was 42-8 Fort Gay.

On Crum’s next possession Copley hit Nathan Messer for a 23 yard touchdown strike but the two point conversion failed and it was 42-14 Vikings.

In the fourth quarter Copley found Steeler Salmons for a 21 yard touchdown and Salmons added the two point conversion to set the final score of 42-22.
