On Thursday, November 15th at around 1:46 p.m. Constable Daniel Castle was at the Blaine Food Pantry as he usually is, yet this Thursday was not typical giveaway. One of the food recipients came back angry because he didn’t get the food he wanted.

David Blake, 62 of Blaine left the giveaway and came back belligerent and angry because he did not get what he thought he should have at the food bank.

Blake, feeling shorted, was yelling at the volunteers and cursing them. Castle, who helps run the giveaway and spends a ton of time organizing and unloading boxes of food and other commodities with his wife, was present at the time of the incident. He approached David Blake who was then in his car after a long scene of disorderly conduct and after multiple warnings and attempts to stop the ordeal. Castle showed his badge to Blake and attempted to stop Blake from leaving the scene and was forced to reach into Blake’s vehicle to either put the van back into gear or grab the keys as Blake tried to leave the scene.

SKID MARKS SHOW HOW FAST BLAKE TOOK OFF WITH CONSTABLE HANGING ON

Castle realized at this point he was either going to be run over by the van or hang on. Castle held on to the vehicle while Blake choked him and attempted to fight him off.

But Castle hung on long enough to get control of the vehicle and while Blake continued to fight and choke the Constable, he along with a bystander got the vehicle along with Blake stopped and eventually placed  in handcuffs. Blake was arrested for Disorderly Conduct, 2nd degree, Assault, 3rd degree on a Police Officer, Wanton Endangerment, 1st degree and Operating a Motor Vehicle on Suspended or Revoked License.

This arrest made 22 arrests for David Blake, who was transported to the Big Sandy Regional Detention Center.

Constable Castle suffered a few minor injuries, but was okay as he left from that scene straight on to another incident of a DUI that he turned over to the Sheriff’s Dept.

Blake was released after a pretrial hearing.

BOARD MEMBER DANIEL CASTLE

CASTLE’S COMMENTS

“…What a weekend! Need to clarify a few points, I don’t run the food bank, but rather am a board member. Our founder and president is Rachel Wheeler. She and her family works tirelessly making sure our neighbors have enough food. Also, it wasn’t just a bystander who leaped into action, a fellow food bank board member leaped into the van to assist. I looked over and Angel Thompson jumped in the passenger side to assist. Her, along with Robby Roberts we were able to get the keys out of the ignition which helped defuse a very dangerous situation. In addition, the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office was quick to respond. Thank you Mark Wheeler and Mason Keefer for being there so quickly!”

You notice that somebody jumped in with a trump voter. But trump wants folks to stand on thier own 2 feet. WHAT EVER HAPPENED TO MAKEING IT ON YOUR OWN? Now the democrates want everything given to them, but fail to think where the money to pay for all those phones and food and checks and housing come from, and when the freebies outway the workers, then theres going to be hell to pay, cause the worker are going to still be in shape to fight , while the freebies are going to be fighting from a wheel chair. Now before you jump down my throat, I’m all for helping those that NEED IT ,but theres a hell of a lot that are able to work that wont.

People … please this isn’t a political post even though 3 people are trying hard to make it about Republicans and Democrats. Politics have nothing to do with this. Thanks to all those who work hard at the food bank and especially those who helped with this particular situation.

Arrested 22 times and they release him again! A traviesty! Why is he back on the street and why does everything have to be about Donald Trump! Bottom line- this man should be in jail before he hurts someone else. Who will it be next time?

22 arrests? Are you kidding me? That is insane. Mad over food that was GIVEN to him! How ungrateful! How about he get out and try to work for it?

Judge not lest ye be judged. Didn’t Jesus hang around poor people?

    • No Judge says:

And I think Jesus would want him to help himself all he could before depending upon others for a handout. The Lord gave him a mind and body to use for something other than just waiting on handouts from others. Even mentally challenged people work at different places. I was shown how well people can do for themselves one day at Wal-Mart. I had bought some potting soil and was waiting on someone to show me which one it was. An employee in a wheelchair came out, put a bag on his lap and then proceeded to load it into my truck for me. He then went back and got the other bag also. Just goes to show that there are those that want to help themselves and there are those that would rather wait on a handout. Which do you think Jesus would want someone to be?

    • worker says:

Has nothing to do with judging anyone! The Bible also says you don’t work, you do not eat. It has everything to do with WHAT HE DID!

  9. Working Person says:

ALSO: How about BANNING him from all food banks around the area?? He probably had something that he thought was going to be in the box sold to someone else. When he realized it wasn’t in there, he got worried he wasn’t going to get his drug money in exchange for the food. Now that would make a cheese eater mad for sure!!!
