Louisa, Ky  — Both Jackson Feltner and CJ Fairchild had monster numbers this past year and for that reason the Lawrence Co. duo was recognized across the state for making Second and Third team All State respectively.

Feltner led the state in Home Runs with 14 on his way to second team all state.

Feltner was a Second Team All State selection and led the state of Kentucky in Home Runs with 14 he also hit .429 drove in 55 runs, scored 50 runs, and had 51 hits including 2 triples and 13 doubles.

On the mound he went 8-1 sporting a 3.20 ERA striking out 38 in 35 innings pitched. Opponents hit .183 against him.

CJ Fairchild was lethal from his leadoff spot and on the mound for the Dawgs this season.

Fairchild was a Third Team All State selection hitting .456 while driving in 32 runs he scored 68 runs had 52 hits including 9 Home Runs, 2 triples and 11 doubles and walked 26 times to set the table for the rest of the lineup.

Fairchild was also good on the mound with a 6-1 record in 40 and 2/3 innings, a 2.93 ERA and struck out 51 batters. Opponents hit .225 against him.

Lawrence Co. Head Coach Travis Feltner

COACH’S COMMENTS

“…Can’t say in words how proud I am of those 2 guys. Obviously when your team has the kind of success this team had, you’ve got several guys that performed at a very high level. Fortunately these two guys were selected to be on the all state ballot. We certainly felt we had more guys deserving but those things are out of our control. So to have a guy on 2nd team (Jackson) and 3rd team (CJ) is a huge deal. I don’t recall ever having two guys off one team represent LCHS on all state team since our 2008 State Runner up team that had multiple guys.

“… Jackson and CJ are two special players in our program that had remarkable seasons on the field. Their numbers speak for themselves. Jackson led the entire state of KY in HRs and was top 5 in RBIs. The things he’s done to a baseball all spring I’m not sure I’ve coached another kid that has hit the ball with such violence. CJs offensive numbers were out of this world, too. Was right at the top in the state in runs scored, OBP% as well as providing some serious power at the top of our lineup.”

“… Both guys did a tremendous job for us defensively playing multiple positions demonstrating the flexibility this team needed based on pitching. Jackson and CJ had huge years for us on the mound as well.”

“… Again just really proud of what they’ve accomplished this year and look forward to their senior campaign.”
