EAGLE RIDGE GOLF LEAGUE NEWS
Tuesday Rain did not Dampen the Field on Tuesday Evening
On Tuesday afternoon, I left my house about 4:15 in the afternoon, and it was pouring the rain. I had my windshield wipers on the entire trip to the clubhouse. I found a few league members milling around, and they were watching the flashes of lightning in the distance. So my question to them was, “are we going to play?” The answer I received was that no one was going to play if we were hit with a thunderstorm. Then, the weather took an about-face, and by 4:45, the rain stopped, and the sun came out. It was just a little drink for the course which was nice. By 5 o’clock the league members had rolled in. We had 19 members who played, and those who did not play had notified the course several days before. So it was not only a good night to play golf it was also a remarkable turnout.
This week the League played the front nine. Without a doubt, at least for me, the front nine is much more difficult than the back nine. Yet there were many lower scores than the last time we played the front nine where par was the low score. The low gross score was an excellent one under 34.
Those scoring less than par included Dustin Kingsmore (31), Bill Jackson (32), Bill England (33), and Davey Fields (34).
Now for the scores and the highlights for May 22.
