England Still on a Tear
For the second week in a row, Bill England fires the low net score. It was not nearly as good as his course tying round of last week, but still a very nice 9-holes. I’m going to test the water he’s been drinking.
The course was in beautiful shape, and the greens are almost at their summer peak. This coming week they will reach their lightning speed. This is when your ball hits the front of the green, and then trundles back down the hill below the green. You attempt not to get above the hole because you will have a downhill putt that if you miss the putt, will travel a distance that places you further away from the hole than your original lie. This is when you get to experience Eagle Ridge golf at its best.
Tuesday was a was a beautiful day for golf. Although it was in the 90’s, it was not an oppressive, humid 90. It was actually comfortable. The course was in excellent condition. The greens were fast but not as f-a-s-t as they soon will be.
