DRUGS, GUNS AND MONEY DISCOVERED IN MAJOR RAID IN PRESTONSBURG, KY. 

The Floyd County Sheriff’s Office announced last week that it has seized a large amount of drugs, guns and money following a year-long (12 months) investigation.

The extensive investigation led to Floyd County deputies to obtain indictment warrants and search warrants after gathering enough information and evidence. The deputies served the warrants at a home on Conley Fork of Spurlock in the Prestonsburg area on Wednesday evening, July 19. 

Floyd County Sheriff John Hunt and his Floyd County deputies executed a raid on the home on Wednesday which resulted in police finding Fentanyl, Heroin, Meth, Marijuana, Prescription Pills, LSD. They also confiscated equipment related to drug trafficking, including digital scales,plastic baggies and other assortments of drug paraphernalia. 

The sheriff’s office also found a large cache of firearms, of which some of them were identified as stolen, and a significant substantial amount of money; along with having recovered several items of stolen property. 

Officers arrested two men at the residence, identified as Josh Baisden, 39, and  David Craft, 56, of Conley Fork of Spurlock, in Prestonsburg, KY.

Both men were placed in the Floyd County Detention Center in Prestonsburg, and were charged with the following criminal offenses:

(1) Trafficking in a Controlled Substance 1st (Heroin),

(2) Trafficking in a Controlled Substance 1st (Crystal Meth),

(3) Trafficking in a Legend Drug 1st,

(4) Trafficking in a Controlled Substance 1st ( Fentanyl),

(5) Possession of a Defaced Firearm,

(6) Receiving Stolen Property,

(7) Possession of a Scheduled Drug 1st (LSD); and also long with several other drug related charges.

Floyd County Sheriff John Hunt stated that, “The illegal drug trafficking has been plaguing that community area of Floyd County for far too long.”

Sheriff Hunt further said that “the success of this operation is a testament to the dedication and professionalism of the men and women of this office. Their commitment to protecting our community and eradicating the scourge of illegal drugs is commendable. We would also like to express our gratitude to the local community for their continued support and cooperation throughout this investigation.”
