Dorothy Lee (Bowen) Parsons

Dorothy Lee (Bowen) Parsons, 72 of Genoa, WV passed away at Three Rivers Medical Center in Louisa, Ky on June 15, 2017.

She was born in Lawrence Co. Ky to the late Earl and Merlie (Johnson) Bowen. She is preceded in death by  2 daughters, Patricia and Rhoda Ann; 1 brother Board Ray and 4 sisters, Marybell,  Laura, Laurie and Lucy. She is also preceded in death by a loving husband of 50 years; Charles Lee Parsons.

She leaves behind her loving children; 4 sons, Charles (Pete) Parsons Jr. (Shirley), Earl (BoBo) Parsons (Jessica) all of Ohio; Danny Lee Parsons of Huntington, WV; Billy Joe Parsons of Genoa, WV; 2 daughters, Tammy (Parson) Jackson (Ira); Charlene (Parsons) Haynes (Dale) all of Genoa, WV also one ex daughter in law, Tabitha Parsons of Kentucky. Doris and Charles also raised 2 of their grandchildren; Donna (Parsons)Smith and Robin Parsons both of Ohio.

They had a total of 15 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. She is also survived by 2 sisters; Shirley Mounts of Genoa, Wv; and Helen Harless of Ky as well as a host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 am Sunday, June 18, 2017 at Rush Branch Church with Pastor Travis Perry officiating. Burial will follow at the Parsons Cemetery, Genoa, WV.

Visitation will be after 1:00 pm Saturday, June 17, 2017 at Rush Branch Church under the direction of Young Funeral Home.
