Louisa, Ky — Jackson Feltner and CJ Fairchild hit two Home runs apiece and Lawrence Co. ( 16-3 ) earned a split with David Crocket High School ( 8-12 ) from Tennessee by the score of 9-0 Thursday evening at Randy Keeton Field.

With the weather looking bad for the weekend Lawrence Co. and David Crockett High from Jonesborough, Tennessee decided to play a doubleheader Thursday evening

CJ Fairchild and Jackson Feltner combined for 4 dingers on Thursday evening. Feltner had an unreal week, Since last Saturday he is 10-16, 6 HR, 2 doubles and 13 RBIs in 5 games.

The Bulldogs will have a busy week beginning with a trip to Boyd Co. on Monday. Home against East Carter on Tuesday. Travel to Sheldon Clark on Thursday and then Host Pikeville and Cabell Midland on Saturday at 11:00am and 4:00pm.

Lawrence Co. Head Coach Travis Feltner

COACH’S COMMENTS

“… We didn’t come ready to play the first game and they wore us out. In the second game Lucas Maynard was really, really good. He’s been that way every time he has stepped on the mound.”

“… Offensively Jackson ( Feltner ) had an unreal week, Since last Saturday he is 10-16, 6 HR, 2 doubles and 13 RBIs in 5 games. He had 3 homers in the DH Thursday.”

“ CJ ( Fairchild) has probably been as consistent offensively as anybody we’ve got and he had a huge night too.”

“ It was good to play someone new, David Crockett was a very solid ball club and a class act.”

“ For 2 weeks we’ve not been as sharp as we need to be but we’ve figured out a way to win games. After the game 1 loss I talked to them about finding that edge and keeping it. Felt they answered that bell from the first pitch on in the 2nd game. Hopefully it will propel us down the last month of regular season in preparation for post season.”
