Lawrence Co. Head Coach Travis Feltner

COACH’S COMMENTS

“…Three great wins for us this week, we have preached to our kids all year that we want to be hitting our stride at the end of the year and we have won five out of six games and the one loss was right here at home against Paintsville.

“…All we ask is give yourselves a chance to win the game. We have had our ups and downs and sometimes we have been really down and sometimes really up at the end of the day we have to find some consistency. It is key for baseball to find that middle ground. It appears that we are headed in the right direction and if so, it’s the perfect time to be doing that. That’s what we expect to do here.”

“… The relationship between a player and Coach is always up and down but it is always love. It is not hate it is not love hate it is always love. Sometimes it’s tough love sometimes they are not to see eye to eye with me and sometimes I’m not going to see eye to eye with them. But we have four young men that have labored and put the time in and I told them last night that anybody that plays four years in this program has an automatic lifetime of respect from me. They will always be a part of of our program and our family. The farther we get in time the less popular and the less cool it is to complete something. It is easier for kids to quit things now. Either the kid gets frustrated or the parents get frustrated and these four guys have stayed the course and they have had remarkable careers. They had to battle COVID early on as they were incoming freshman on what we feel like would have been our best team ever and they would have learned a lot that year. Will and Braydan will go on to play at the next level and anytime we hit guys that do that we are super excited and proud of them. Dylan and Ryan are two of the hardest working guys in the school just ask anyone up there. They have that reputation that they don’t care to get their hands dirty and put in the work. All four will be successful in life and hopefully we were a small part of that.”
