DAWGS LOSE, CARDS BEAT CENTRAL IN VOLLEYBALL DISTRICTS

Langley, Ky. — Floyd Central ( 29-7 ) is moving on to the 58th District Championship after a straight set victory over Lawrence Co. ( 7-22 ) Monday night at Floyd Central high school.

The Jaguars won 3-0 by the scores of 25-11, 25-5, and 25-16 to win their first ever District game in school history.

Floyd Central will face Betsy Layne ( 21-8 ) who took care of Prestonsburg ( 7-16 ) in straight sets 25-14, 25-11 and 25-13 on Wednesday night at 6:00. Both teams will advance to 15th Region play next week.

VOLLEYCARDS BEAT JOHNSON CENTRAL IN 3 SRAIGHT SETS

VolleyCards team and Fans at district 2017

Salyersville, Ky. — In the 57th District Tournament at Magoffin Co. it was Sheldon Clark ( 18-11 ) over Johnson Central ( 8-20 ) in straight sets 25-21, 25-16, and 28-26. The Cards will advance to the title game.

In the other game it was Paintsville ( 29-4 ) over Magoffin Co. ( 0-24 ) by the scores of 25-5, 25-7, and 25-4. The Tigers will also advance to the title game.

Sheldon Clark will face Paintsville tonight at 7:00 at Magoffin Co. High school for the 57th District Championship. Both teams will advance to the 15th Region next week.
