DAWGS GUNNING FOR UPSET OF DEFENDING STATE CHAMPIONS

DANVILLE, Ky. —  After a record setting victory in the first round of the Class 3A playoffs last Friday 78-74 over Western Hills the Bulldogs will make the long trek to face the defending state champs and 11-0 Boyle Co. tonight at 7:30.

#5 Noah West diving for extra yardage vs Western Hills

Dawg Senior star Noah West ran for 396 yards last week and is now over 2,000 for the season. West has 31 touchdowns on the season including 7 against the Wolverines. Complimenting West in the backfield is Senior Ashton Blankenship with 660 yards and 9 touchdowns, Sophomore Baden Gillispie has 765 yards and 8 touchdowns so far.

The Bulldog line who opened up big hole after big hole last week will be key against the Rebels who are a bit undersized. Senior Eric Price, Senior Kolten Dean, Sophomore Kyle Davis, Junior Bradley Osborne, Junior Clayton Sullivan, Senior Eric Webb and Sophomore Ethan Fields.

#55 Eric Price and his fellow lineman are looking forward to facing #1 Boyle Co.

Boyle Co. has won 23 games in a row with the last loss coming to county rival Danville 10-7 on August 31st of 2017. The Rebels are very balanced on offense rushing for 2,368 and passing for 2,346 on the year.

Junior QB Reed Lanter has thrown for 30 touchdowns and 2,256 yards. Junior Reece Smith is the leading receiver with 829 yards and 12 touchdowns. Junior Landon Bartleson is the leading rusher with 757 yards and 12 touchdowns.

On defense for the Bulldogs they are led by Seniors Tanner Rasnake, Hunter Crum, Dylan Sizemore and Blankenship along with Sophomore Brandon Davis. Seniors West and Isiah Rose had big interceptions in last weeks win. Defensive backs Gillispie and Burke Hogan will be tested big time this week.

For the Rebels Junior Ezarious Roller, Junior Wilson Kelly and Junior Hayden Bottoms are the leading tacklers on defense.

Freshman Kicker Jackson Smith has made 45 extra points and 2 field goals this season.

The winner of this game will play the winner of Lexington Catholic and Belfry on Friday November 16th.
