The Bulldogs will close out the regular season Friday night with a Home game with Johnson Central.

Lawrence Co. Head Coach Chandler Thompson

COACH’S COMMENTS

“… Tough loss Saturday night at home. Pikeville has a very nice long, athletic team. We didn’t shoot the ball very well, and part of that is due to their length on the defensive side of the ball. Even through not shooting well, our kids still battled and competed well. Unfortunately, we came up a little short. At this time of the year you have to learn from it and move on!!”

“… On CJ Fairchild The passion and fire that you have shown is something that I hope every guy in our program develops. From being a starter at the beginning of the season, to battling a shoulder injury, to now coming off the bench and giving us valuable minutes, you have remained passionate and fiery throughout it all. I challenge you to keep that passion in every phase of your life. Whether it be in college, in employment, or even when you have a wife and kids, that passionate attitude will be an asset for the rest of your life.”

“… On Tyler Maynard You have been one of the hardest workers that I have ever coached. From 6AM weights, to practice, to games, you always bring your all. It is no secret why you have been successful. As you go on to play baseball at the next level, don’t forget what got you there- your willingness to work! Your athletic ability and skill are distinguished; but, what is more impressive to me is how hard you have worked to obtain these abilities. No matter what life throws you- never change and keep that work ethic.”

“… On Chase Sartin You have been asked to do a lot for our team this year and step out of your comfort zone. You have played on the perimeter your whole life; but, given our personnel you had to step up and play in a variety of positions. At some point this season, you have played every position 1 through 5. No matter what, you were always receptive, confident and very coachable. That versatility and adaptability is something that can’t be replaced in our program, but will certainly take you places in life itself. Just like everyone else, you will find that there is nothing easy about life after high school, but if there is anyone that can adapt and adjust to be successful it would be you.”

“… Alex Ratliff is hands down the most selfless player that I have ever coached! I have told numerous people that if every program could have 10 guys just like you, they would never have much to stress about. You come in everyday with a great attitude and a smile on your face. No matter what the circumstance is, you always want what is best for the team. I realize I may never coach another young man that is as selfless as you have been, and that has made this year with you even more special. Always put others before yourself, because as much as it has meant to myself and this program, it will mean even more to those you impact throughout your future.”
