DAWGS BLAST JAGUARS; PLAY FOR TRIP TO STATE TOURNEY TODAY

Louisa, Ky. — Lawrence Co. Boys ( 12-2 ) will play for a state tournament bid after routing Floyd Central 89-63 on Saturday afternoon.

Cody Maynard led four Bulldogs in double figures with a game high 30 points including 5 three pointers, Trenton Adkins tallied 19 points, Tyler Johnson netted 18 points, Kaden Gillispie added 11 points, Andrew Bloomfield scored 5 points, Will Lafferty 4 points and Ryder Brown chipped in with 2 points.

The Dawgs hit 7 three pointers and went 16 of 21 from the foul line.

Floyd Central dropped to 10-4 on the season and was led by Brayden Moore with 13 points, Jake Rainey 12 points, Ronnie Sammons 10 points, Eric Burke and Brody Buck with 9 points each, Grant Wright 5 points, Dylan Boyd 3 points, Tanner Hall 2 points.

The Jaguars hit 5 three pointers and 4 of 5 from the foul line.

FCHS 12 15 20 16 = 63
LCHS 17 32 15 25 = 89

The Dawgs will play Magoffin Co. ( 7-5 ) at 4:30 on Sunday with the winner headed to Owensboro for the Class 2A State Tournament.

The Hornets beat Rowan Co. on Wednesday 62-48 to advance to the title game.
