Darrell Glen Brewer Jr, 50, of Prichard, W.Va., passed away Wednesday, July 5, 2017.

Born January 27, 1967 in Louisa, he was the first of three children born to Darrell and Etta (Patton) Brewer. He was preceded in death by his loving grandparents, Bill and Sis Brewer, and Perry (Jim) and Florence Patton; a very special niece, McKenzie Sha’ Brewer; and a nephew, Danny Staley.

In addition to his parents, Darrell Jr. is survived by his children, Caitlin Johnson and Darrell Glen (Trey) Brewer III, and their mother, Lisa Brewer; his siblings Steven Brewer (Sonya) and Jennifer Haywood (Andrew), all of Prichard. He is also survived by nieces and nephews that he adored: Kayla Brody (Danny); Will, Ben and Megan Clayton; Kierra Sowards; Christy Smith (Jeramy); Kenzleigh, Kasen and Brynleigh Brody; Gunner and Dannika Smith, and Austin and Nate Haywood. Also, Genevieve, Greg and Reta Staley, who he loved dearly; many uncles, aunts and cousins, and his faithful dog, Dora.

If love could have saved him, he would still be here with us, for he was greatly loved by his big, wonderful family. His children were his greatest pride and he loved them both without comparison. He was the uncle who truly adored and was adored in return, teaching them to ride bicycles, dirt bikes and go-carts in granny and papaw’s front yard, doing his Donald Duck voice for the babies and spoiling them with gifts and candy. He loved adventure and speed; he loved cars and was a gifted mechanic. He went out of his way to help those he saw in need. He had a big, generous heart.

Visitation will take place Saturday, July 8, 2017 from 6 to 9 p.m. at Prichard Freewill Baptist Church.

Funeral services will be held at the church, Sunday, July 9, at 11 a.m., and will be conducted by Bro. Ray Vance. Burial will follow at his family cemetery on Queens Creek Rd. in Prichard.
