The Louisa Chapter of DAR met Monday morning with Mayor Harold Slone to discuss the new Observation Deck overlooking the Levisa River. Louisa Chapter is Co- Sponsoring the project.
A $9,100 Grant has been approved for this project, Mayor Slone said. He noted building the deck, which will be $7,500, will begin around the second week in August with date of completion to be by October 5, 2017.
No money has been allocated for labor so it will be donated in order to keep costs down on the project. A local group, RiseAbove has agreed to supply most of it.
The next scheduled meeting will be July 31, 2017 @ 10:00 am in City Hall.
