OHIO COUPLE ARRESTED BY STATE POLICE IN JOHNSON COUNTY, KY. AFTER SPEEDING INFRACTION OF ONLY THREE MILES PER HOUR OVER SPEED LIMIT LEADS TO DISCOVERY OF DIFFERENT SPEEDING: MORE THAN TWO POUNDS OF METH

A VERY MINOR SPEED TRAFFIC INFRACTION LEADS TO A MAJOR TRAFFIC OF SPEED CHARGE: ANTWAN FREEMAN (PHOTO TOP) 22, & MAYKAYLA L GARNER, ( 20, BOTH OF AKRON, OHIO, WERE ARRESTED IN JOHNSON COUNTY, KY., ON MARCH 12 BY KENTUCKY STATE POLICE, AFTER BEING FOUND WITH A KILOGRAM (2+ POUNDS) OF METH IN THEIR VEHICLE.

A man and woman from Ohio ended up taken to jail in Johnson County, Kentucky, after they were pulled over after being clocked going just 3 miles over the speed limit, when state police found a different kind of speed with the couple; more than 2 pounds of meth in their SUV.

Kentucky State Police Post 9 Pikeville trooper Billy Ball spotted a Chevy Equinox traveling at 58 MPH on U.S. 23 north of Paintsville, KY., just after noon on Tuesday, March 12. However, the officer noticed the car was speeding up and slowing down while riding its brakes.

When they reached Paintsville, trooper Ball pulled them over and asked the driver, Makayla L. Garner, 20, and a passenger, Antwan Freeman, 22, both from Akron, Ohio, to step out of the car.

Trooper Ball, along with KSP trooper Tracy Salyor, then searched the vehicle and found two packages containing a total of a kilogram (2.2 pounds) of methamphetamine hidden under the gear shift.

Makayla Garner was arrested by trooper Billy Ball and Antwan Freeman was arrested by trooper Tracy Salyor and both were charged with: *TRAFFICKING IN CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE, 1ST DEGREE, 1ST OFFENSE – (> OR = 2 GRAMS METHAMPHETAMINE); with Makayla Garner was additionally charged with: *SPEED OVER 03 MPH OVER LIMIT.

Both Antwan Freeman and Maykayla Garner were both taken to the Big Sandy Regional Detention Center in Paintsville, and are each being held on $10,025 cash bonds.
