Huntington, W. Va. Tolsia Senior Coty Jude poured in a school record 54 points but it wasn’t enough as St. Joe Catholic ends the Rebels season 96-85 on Tuesday night in the semifinals of the Region 4 Section 2 tournament.

St. Joe came out firing on all cylinders and led 21-14 at the end of one period. In the second period the Irish extended the lead outscoring Tolsia 24-14 to lead at halftime 45-27.

Jude scored 37 points and Jordan Johnson scored 18 in the second half but it wasn’t enough to overcome the hot start by the Irish. The Rebels got within 6 points in the fourth but couldn’t get any closer in the high scoring affair.

Senior Jordan Johnson backed Jude with 24 points, Senior Brian Campbell tallied 6 points and Senior Logan Presley hit a three pointer. The Rebels went 18-22 at the line and hit 5 threes in the defeat. All four seniors played their final game in a Rebel basketball uniform on Tuesday night.

St. Joe was led by Deandre Murphy with 45 points and Garrick Hopkins with 21. The Irish went 32-41 at the line and hit 9 threes. St. Joe will advance to the sectional championship game on Friday night at Tug Valley.
