On Sunday December 15, 2019 the Louisa Community came together and provided a free Christmas Dinner.

The event was was put together by various churches, Bethel Church, The Table, Faith Baptist in Louisa, Hope City, The Tourism Board with Wes Kingmore, The Family Resource Center with Jess Tackett and Anita Caudill.

The Family Resource Center had an Angel Tree for the children. Eddie Joe Maynard and his wife Alycia Maynard helped put everything together and did a lot of volunteer work at the event. There was many others who also came together to make it happen!

This is the 4th year they they have been doing this and Eddie Maynard said it gets bigger and bigger every year. “I would like to thank each and every one of those who made this possible,” Maynard said.

Santa was there giving out gifts to the children and taking pictures with them. The dinner was great it was ham and turkey, with everything to go with it. A big table with sweets, pudding, cookies, cupcakes and more was provided for everyone!

The community enjoying themselves.

These great people do this for a good cause, then a good number of God haters, like KAG and Lib Gal will take full advantage of it. The scum of the earth will run to the churches for more “free Stuff”. It isn’t supposed to work that way, but sadly it does.

Sorry but many of the people who talk against in your comments over and over in these posts of yours were actually involved in donating money, food and time helping this event come together Charles. Just shows your prejudice is wrong again.

No, I just know more about how life really works, than someone who uses a high school cheer as a name! However I’m sure many fine people are involved, and I am quite sure KAG and Lib Gal will do nothing but rake in the handouts along with many others like them. Perhaps when you grow up you may see it more clearly.

You must lead a sad life if you reduce every article you read to something political … even articles about events that bring the community together. I’m sorry that you don’t like my name which indicates that I support Lawrence County in all different ways (not a cheer name because I never went to LCHS because I am older than that). I pray that this Christmas season will bring you peace because you seem to be a very unhappy person because you can only attack others….. It’s sad that you took this article about our community coming together and made it an attack against people you don’t agree with, know or understand.

I wish you all the same things my young friend. I don’t attack people, I state facts. I think the project you ‘appear to be involved in is a wonderful thing, and shows Christianity at its best. I said nothing about anyone involved at all. I must tell you a bit of a story to explain my point of view…I was born and mostly raised in a rough lumber home, outside toilet (not that I could imagine an inside toilet), water came out of a dug well out back, electric lights that one pulled a switch on the light to turn on. We were poor, but we took NO charity. I was in about 5th grade when food stamps came out, my family (mostly deceased), nor myself ever drew any! My dad worked for $50 a week (6 days), we farmed, caned and preserved what we grew as well, we had nut and fruit trees as well. Have you ever tasted an apple pie made totally from scratch? My Christmas presents were few and didn’t cost much. However we had love and happiness. We went to church in an old school house in our community. Don’t start feeling sorry for me, I LOVED IT, and would love to go back. I have a heart for old people, people in wheelchairs, the sick and disabled (real disabled people), and would do anything I could for them. I’m sure many people will be helped by your endeavor. My point is, there are a good number of ‘professional’ poor people today, and most of them are liberals whether you like it or not. I use KAG and Lib Gal as outstanding examples of that very fact. I went on from my simple upbringing, to get an education, be a cop (where I used my upbringing to help people). Then after that I received a MA, and teach college part time (semi retired). I used my prior experience to work for a better life, not lay on my lazy a$$ waiting on a handout, I don’t blame society for not giving me a chance, I MADE MY OWN!

So yes to one degree or another…everything is political. You seem to be intelligent, you just need wisdom, its earned, not learned.

Thanks Charles for calling me, a woman in her 60’s, young! I grew up in a log cabin that my GrandDad built … he felled the trees and built the house. We had electric but the wires ran on the outside of the walls… and yes I HAVE tasted an apple pie made from scratch from our own apples. Most of us above the age of 60 from Lawrence County grew up “hard” compared to our kids and grandkids. My hard life however didn’t harden my heart against others. Thanks again for calling me young!

I wouldn’t know anything about being 60, I’m 63. As to me living a sad life, my net worth is $250K or better. I own an !8 acre ranch, with a stunning view of “The Great Smokey Mountains”, I have a barn, a few Black Angus cattle, 2 horses, two Harley’s and a boat. Unlike a liberal, I don’t accept everyone’s view as correct, or to be inclusive with a bunch of crybabies. Everything I have is paid for, and I PAID FOR IT! My heart isn’t burdened, my life isn’t sad, and you are the person who judges me, not vice versa! You get on here and bash me, and unlike a liberal (LIKE YOU), I wont bow down and hump up, as you would like. If you are 60, you have the mind of a child. Merry Christmas.
