No details being released concerning fatal shooting at Peach Orchard
LAWRENCE COUNTY — A mysterious fatal shooting in the Peach Orchard area of Lawrence County on August 16 has sent rumors swirling and put Facebook on overtime because of the lack of details about the incident from police and the state attorney. It appears as though there are no witnesses to the actual shooting.
Lawrence Sheriff Chuck T. Jackson released a statement on August 16 reporting a fatal shooting during a fight between a property owner and one of two burglary suspects, identified as 45 yr old Jerry Lee Maynard of Lawrence County, was located in the woods by the property owner.
A fight ensued and although Maynard disarmed the property owner, he ended up being shot and killed.
The incident is under investigation by Chief Deputy Mason Keefer of the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office, Jackson’s FB report says.

That question and many others will have to wait until the grand jury meets, Commonwealth’s Atty. Tony Skeans said yesterday.
…Others near the scene say Maynard and Green Ramey, who was arrested and charged with burglary, were at the property by mistake and left as soon as they saw items they believed belonged to them were not there.
Crystal Ramey said yesterday that she was with Green Ramey and Jerry Maynard when they returned to their place near the 23/645 intersection and found out from neighbors the identity of two men who had taken their two vehicles (one had to be towed) earlier that day.
“We came home to our place near (23/645) had two vehicles missing and neighbors told us who took the property and where they lived at Peach Orchard, so we went up there to get the stuff back,” Ms. Ramey said. She also said she and Greene had lived at Peach Orchard but their house burned. They still have property there so they wanted to see if that had been robbed by the same two men that took the vehicles.
“But when they went to the house, our property wasn’t there because we went to the wrong house so the boys (Green and Jerry Lee) split up and headed down to where we were but Jerry didn’t show up.” Ms Ramey said. “About 2:30 we heard the gunshots and the deputy came back about three hours later and arrested Green for burglary.”
“We don’t know how Jerry got shot or anything,” she added.
Lawrence Commonwealth’s Attorney Tony Skeans said yesterday that the case has been discussed at length between himself and Sheriff Jackson and they have decided to not release any details at the present time.
“At this time the investigation is very much on-going and not complete,” Skeans told The Lazer. “Talking with Sheriff Jackson it was determined that releasing information on any of the people of interest could jeopardize/complicate the investigation.”
“Upon completion of the investigation I am sure he (Sheriff) will release the information you seek, no later than the presentation to the Grand Jury though.”
This is same problem about releasing information on Trump crimes

sound like they was stealing some one weed cause why was they found outside on this property anyway if there stuff had been stolen they should have called the police and took legal action unless you was doing something you aren’t suppose to be doing I say they was stealing some one weed
