The Martin County Sheriff’s Department made a major burglary arrest when they apprehended three men from Columbus, Ohio at a residence shortly after they robbed a Martin County home in the early AM hours of Thursday morning October 26.
And the whole case could have taken a more ominous turn, because when the men were taken into custody, deputies discovered that all three men were convicted felons and that all three were armed with a firearm.
According to a press news release from Martin County Sheriff John H. Kirk, his deputies responded to a burglary call located on Sweetwater Branch after a homeowner discovered his home had been broken into and vandalized.
Just a little while after deputies arrived at the crime scene, a short time later, a second call came into Martin County 911 that the suspects were hiding at another residence.
When deputies arrived at that second location, they found and arrested 31 year old Mark A. Crouch, 25 year old Jonathan C. Hall and 28 year old Gerald B. Harden. All three suspects are from Columbus, Ohio. Deputy Aaron Blevins was listed as the arresting officer for all three burglars.
All three men have been each charged with: • BURGLARY, 2ND DEGREE, • CRIMINAL MISCHIEF 3RD DEGREE,
• POSSESSION OF FIREARM BY CONVICTED FELON.
Mark Crouch was also charged two with additional offenses: • RESISTING ARREST, and • SERVING BENCH WARRANT FOR COURT.
All three men remain lodged in the Big Sandy Regional Detention Center in Paintsville.
