CITY BUYS NEW GARBAGE TRUCK FOR $232,022

Motion made by Tom Parsons, second by Ron Cordle to approve the financing for a new garbage truck. The cost of the new truck and the re-financing of the old truck comes to amount around $232,000.

The Louisa City Council met for a Special Meeting on Tuesday, May 30, 2017. Those in attendance were Harold Slone Mayor, Mitch Castle Council, Ron Cordle Council, Matt Brown Council, Lisa Schaeffer Council, Tom Parsons Council and John Nolan Council.

A motion made by Tom Parsons, second by Ron Cordle to approve the financing for a new garbage truck. The cost of the new truck and the re-financing of the old truck comes to amount around $232,000.00. This works out to a monthly payment of $3,022.00 over the next 7 years with an interest charge of 2.59%.

The Mayor stated that the new truck is a necessity as the old truck has safety issues.

The Mayor also updated the Council on the opening of the Louisa City Pool. There were 186 patrons at the pool on opening day. The River Clean Up Project is set for June 17, 2017 and all members were encouraged to come out and attend.

Motion made by Mitch Castle, second by Tom Parsons to adjourn. All were in agreement.
