Preston ‘has never seen as many lawyers in his court room’
LOUISA, Ky. — It was a packed courtroom on Friday, May 25th. The public defender was overwhelmed with cases and a comment was made by Judge J.D. Preston that he “doesn’t ever remember seeing so many lawyers in his courtroom at one time”.
Meth still dominates charges and the courtroom being full seems to be a scary trend…
The docket went like this:
Robert Chafin, 41 charged with Trafficking In A Controlled Substance, 1st offense was present on a motion to modify the conditions of release.
The defendant to receive an in home incarceration referral.
Teresa Clay, 50 per judgement by the Commonwealth, the defendant was sentenced to 3 years Probated over 5 years (consecutive to 17-cr-127 & 128) to serve on an ankle bracelet for Trafficking In a Controlled Substance.
Separate Case: the defendant pled guilty and was sentenced to 3 years consecutive to other cases, probated for 5 years.
To serve 365 days for Trafficking In a Controlled Substance and for the 3rd Case of Trafficking In a Controlled Substance, the defendant received the same sentence. The last case was dismissed.
Steven Blake Compton, 25 the atty. filed a motion to remand, stating the letter from the victim to show mercy should stand. The Commonwealth objected, stating that this is a public safety issue and the victim’s statement is not relevant.
The defendant was denied his motion on the charges of Assault, 2nd Degree, Operating a Motor Vehicle Under the Influence of Alcohol/Drugs and Failure To Wear Seatbelts.
Crystal Cordle, 46 was present for a Probation Revocation Hearing was reset to 6/8/18.
Allan Farmer, 45 A waiver of representation tendered to Kute, the defendant entered a guilty plea based on the Commonwealth’s offer and will be final sentenced on 6/22/18 to an amended charge from Complicity Manufacturing to Facilitation and a Pretrial diversion.
Anita Farmer, 45 entered a guilty plea based on an offer by the Commonwealth to amend complicity manufacturing methamphetamine to Facilitation.
The defendant will be final sentenced on 6/22/18 and signed a pretrial diversion agreement.
Crystal Fitzpatrick, 25 entered a guilty plea based on an offer by the Commonwealth to amend complicity manufacturing methamphetamine to Facilitation.
Final sentencing to be held on 6/22/18.
Justin Harless, 30 was present on the docket for a probation revocation hearing.
After testimony from Billy Slone of Probation and Parole the defendant’s probation was revoked and he was remanded to the department of corrections. Other cases to be addressed on 8/21/18 with a report date of 7/13/18.
Audrey Horn, 31 was present on a bond revocation hearing. Defendant received an additional 60 days to tender order.
David Brian Johnson, 41 was sentenced to
3 years consecutive (to other cases) probated over 5 with other condition for Criminal Mischief,
60 days for Attempt Escape, 2nd degree,
60 days for resisting arrest,
60 days for Wanton Endangerment and the Persistent Felony Offender enhances it to 10 years.
Separate Case: Defendant sentenced to
2 1/2 years concurrent to one case but consecutive to another
20 years probated over five years with other conditions on Assault, 3rd degree,
90 days on falsely reporting an incident, and persistent felony offender was dismissed.
Separate Case: defendant was was sentenced to
three years concurrent to one case but consecutive to another for a total of
20 years probated over 5 years for Escape, 2nd Degree,
12 months for fleeing or evading police,
12 months concurrent to other accounts of resisting arrest and
persistent felony offender enhances to 10 years.
Amanda Jordan, 36 Will be final sentenced on 6/22/18 to an offer by the Commonwealth, complicity to manufacturing methamphetamine to Facilitation with a Pretrial diversion.
Lowell Maynard, 30 was present on a motion for shock probation.
The motion was denied.
Jessica McKinney, 36 Pled guilty to judgment prepared by the Commonwealth and will be sentenced to
two years with a pretrial diversion over four years for 1st Degree Possession of a Controlled Substance, Cocaine and
12 months for Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
Joni Moore, 40 The defendant was sentenced to
2 years, diversion over 4 years with other conditions on Complicity Possession of a Controlled Substance and
60 days for Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
Jonathan Owens, 30 a bench warrant was issued.
Nathaniel Pack, 35 was sentenced to:
2 years Probation (unsupervised) for 1st Degree Possession of Cocaine.
Robert Parker, 35 was present for pre-trial, a public defender was appointed.
The defendant entered a not guilty plea and will return to court on 6/22/18 for Convicted Felon In Possession of a Handgun.
Separate Case: was present for pre-trial and will return on 6/22/18 for the charges of complicity trafficking in a controlled substance, persistent felony offender and complicity to possess drug paraphernalia.
Bradley Parsley, 40 was present and will be final sentenced on 6/22/18 on Flagrant Non Support.
Separate Case: will also be Final sentenced on 6/22/18 on 1st Degree Possession of Cocaine, Tampering With Physical Evidence, Wanton Endangerment and Possession of a Controlled Substance.
Charles Perkins, 36 was present on charges of (2 counts) of Engaging in Organized Crime.
Reset by the Commonwealth, no date noted.
Heather Savage, 41 was present on Complicity Manufacturing Methamphetamine and Persistent Felony Offender. Next date set for 8/15/18/for trial date, will report on 7/13/18 for another pretrial.
Jason Skaggs, 47 entered a guilty plea and will be final sentenced on 6/22/18 for Possession of a Controlled Substance and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
Kenneth Anthony Stepp, 34 was present for pre-trial. Judge did not agree with offer and the case was reset, docket does not reflect when the date is.
Jeremy Thompson, 37 was sentenced to
3 years for Complicity Trafficking In a Controlled Substance with a Pretrial diversion and 45 days concurrent for Complicity Possession of Marijuana.
Separate Case: was sentenced to:
3 years concurrent to 1st Case for Complicity Manufacturing Methamphetamine.
Melissa Thompson, 42 was present to enter a plea on Complicity Burglary, 3rd degree and Complicity Theft or Pickpocketing.
Misdemeanor plea of guilt with agreement by the Commonwealth to be dismissed with six months to serve on misdemeanor theft.
Sonny Wiley, 40 was sentenced to;
2 years with a diversion over 4 years for Complicity Possession of a Controlled Substance, methamphetamine and
60 days for Complicity Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
