9 batters faced, nine strikeouts in mercy rule game

Prestonsburg, Ky. —  LCHS senior star Ciana Bowen faced nine hitters on Thursday night and struck out all nine in a perfect game victory as Lawrence Co. (12-5) made short work of Prestonsburg 17-0 in three innings at Stonecrest Sports Park.

 

Ciana Bowen faced nine and struck out nine last night vs Prestonsburg.

Abby Fletcher paced the offense with 2 hits, Halli Caudill, Ashley Hayes, Emily Burke, Kassidy Cavins, and Mackenzie Methax had 1 hit each.

Lawrence Co. will return to action next week with three home games beginning with Paintsville on Monday, Johnson Central on Tuesday and Floyd Central on Thursday.

“… It was a good win for our team and it puts us in 1st place in the district. All of my pitches were working and everyone did a great job at being disciplined at the plate. We hit the ball hard and Emily Burke put one at the top of the fence.”

“… Next week we play two big region games and two district games. Should be fun.”
