Lawrence County Chief Deputy Sheriff Mark Wheeler announced last night on Facebook he is leaving to join The Boyd County Sheriff Department as of 1st of January.

Some citizens of Lawrence County responded with sadness to see Dept. Wheeler leave but congratulating and wishing him success on his new career path. And thanking him for his service to our community.

HERE IS HIS FB QUOTE:

“…Today has been a bittersweet day as it is my last day as a Lawrence County Deputy Sheriff after nearly 15 years of service. I have done my best to work hard for and have enjoyed my time serving the Citizens of Lawrence County and would have loved to have been able to continue doing so but God has other plans for me.

I want to Thank everyone for all the support and love shown to me over the years. I look forward to what God has in store for me and my journey as I join the Boyd County Sheriff’s Department.”

A good man. I think he made the right choice considering the situation, but him leaving is a huge loss for LC. Mark has definitely and unquestionably done his part to fight drugs in this county. He has helped addicts get the help they need. Even ex-addicts who were arrested by Mark have told me this. Mark was nearly shot in the line of duty once with the bullet piercing a door and hitting his sidearm. He thanked God for watching over him and continued to fight for this county. Thank you Mark and good luck in Boyd County.

Oh please!!! He was in the military so ask him how many soldiers died in the line of duty. He’s got a crappy attitude and Boyd County will get rid of him when he starts his “better than everyone” crap. Most LC citizens are glad to get rid of him.

Hallelujah prayers are answered. Good riddance!!! It was very clear from the election results that Lawrence Countians didn’t want him.

Well speaking of the election, a large majority that voted against him made that decision based lies and made up stuff spread by the other sides and their band of sidekicks. All that has been done is weaken the department when you get rid of the one doing majority of work and one with most experience. The rest need to step up now but bet that ain’t going to happen. They have been let run free and without direction from their old supervisor/now boss. Wonder who you are Justin….possibly with initials of LJM. Reckon I seen somewhere he busted you!!! Won’t take long for people to realize the error of their ways.

Wrong intitials there old chap lol. I’ve never been arrested old chap lol. He is not wanted in LC and it won’t be long before Boyd county will be getting rid of him. He was the one destroying signs and playing dirty. Well we see how far that got him lol. You’re just butt hurt the same as him because he didn’t get to be the big boss. He’s a pathetic excuse for a man. If I was his wife I would perhaps be looking closely at some of his female supporters that are posting things. People know more than what she does. JS

I agree with you 100%. Thank God he is leaving. Can’t stand the man. And before everyone jumps to conclusions, no it’s not bc he has arrested me nor have I had any law enforcement dealings with him. I have never been in jail nor trouble in my life anything more than a speeding ticket and that was in WV not in Ky. Mark Wheeler is a two faced, hypocritical no good man. He can use God this and God that but when a man uses the language he does and tells lies that he does God doesn’t condone any of that so God is the furthest thing from why he made his decision

Justin, you just plain old reek of negativity. Lighten up up man.

    • Justin says:

Ole Weezy can’t handle the truth can you lol? Maybe you’re Kerry, Sherry or Kim. Perhaps even Sasha. The people of Lawrence County spoke they do not want him as law enforcement!! It would be great if he moved completely out of the county or country for that matter. The election should show him people knows his dirty deeds, even though he wants people to think he’s a saint.

      • Charlie says:

All you are doing Justin is showing the intelligence level and type mentality of some of those that supported the other sides. All the election results show is that people did not want a law enforcement sheriff and that they wanted a politician and someone to pet on them. Good Luck for the next 4 years!!!

Chuck Jackson is going to be the best thing that happened to Lawrence county people just need to get over the fact that chuck Jackson most definitely got what he deserved chuck works hard for the people in the community that is something that mark wheeler could not do because he would not leave the office his numbers was cases that had been worked years ago

          • Charlie says:

Well if Chuck was leaving the office he sure didn’t do anything then or in the past over the years. If he did he would have had way more “numbers”. All he did was turn into a politician, run around like he cared and make promises. It is time for him to pony up on all the things he said he was going to do. It isn’t the Lawrence County Sheriff Department now…it is the Waytin County Sheriff Department.

I see corruption entering our sheriff’s department. Just wait and see. It’s gonna be a big ol’ mess.

Chuck won Wheeler lost get over it. The numbers told the tell. Even a recount would not have helped Wheeler. I mean come on,,he lost by a thousand and some votes. Just think about it—1000 people did not want him to be a law enforcement officer in LC. I’d be ashamed to show my face. I bet some he thinks are friends didn’t vote for him. Probably some he sits beside of in church didn’t vote for him. It’s usually the ones that knows you best that lets you down. WOW I love the thought that he looks at close friends, even family and he has to wonder which ones didn’t vote for him lol.
