CARTER DECLARES LOCAL STATE OF EMERGENCY AFTER HEAVY RAINFALL

PHILLIP CARTER by PHILLIP CARTER

It has been a very tough few weeks for everyone. Our office along with the emergency management, road, department, sheriff office, E911 and many county employees have been working tirelessly since February 10, 2021.

The County Judge Executive did declare a Local State of Emergency on February 10, 2021 for the Ice Storm.  We were not able to post it at the time because of the power outage at the Courthouse the following week along with the staff at home with no power and unable to get out and to the Courthouse when the power was restored on February 19, 2021.  This does not assure that Fema Assistance will be granted but is a step of the process.

I am attaching that Declaration below.  In separate posts my Secretary will post links to educate the community on how a declaration process works and how a Fema Declaration works.

Again, we have all been swamped with the devastation and doing everything in our power to help the residents of this community which did not leave a lot of time for Facebook posts.  We will be posting information as quickly as we can.

Funny, same kind of weather we used to have back in the 60’s and 70’s. It eased up a bit for quite a few years and now its back. Just Mother Nature’s normal cycles!!!

Will there be any kind of help for people whose culverts or bridges have washed out? Will FEMA help?
