Carrie Jean Fowler, 87, of Fort Gay, WV, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, July 21, 2021.

Carrie was born April 8, 1934 in West Virginia to the late Roscoe and Lucy Thompson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Leroy Fowler; sons Lee Roy Fowler and Howard Wayne Fowler; and siblings Sherman Edward, Lizzie Fern, Gertie Marie, Benny Bob, Edna Mae, Ruth Ann, Dixie Faye, and Betty.

Survivors include her children Ewings “Butch” (Darlene) Fowler, Karen (Charlie) France, and Mary Jo Saul; grandchildren Darla, Melissa, Kerry Ann, Maria, Shantella, Jamie, Wayne Douglas, Alex, Charlie, Amy, Karena, Christopher, Rebecca, Stephanie, and Kimberly; many great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; and sister Patricia.

Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, July 25, 2021 at 1:00 PM in the Young Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Mac Ray Cyrus officiating. Burial will follow in the Thompson Cemetery at Vinson Branch.

Friends may visit the family on Saturday, July 24, 2021 from 3:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Young Funeral Home Chapel.

Young Funeral Home has been entrusted with the care of Mrs. Fowler and her family.
