Byrd Prince, Jr.

1929 – 2016

Byrd Prince, Jr., 86 of Fallsburg passed away on Wednesday, May 25, 2016 at home.

Mr. Prince was born in Crum, West Virginia on December 29, 1929 to the late Byrd and Essie Meade-Prince.

Byrd loved his family and enjoyed playing his guitar and singing gospel music and was a Veteran who served his Country selflessly and honorably in the United States Army. He attended the Savage Memorial Church and various area churches. He was self-employed as a logger and also owned Prince Grocery.

Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his siblings including George Curtis Prince, Lowell Thomas Prince and Beatrice James.

He leaves behind a loving and devoted family including his wife Myrtle M. Mills-Prince of Fallsburg; nine children; Dianne Lynn Raylor of South Hampton, England, Larry Joe Prince and Cecil Prince both of Bolts Fork, Ky., Sammy Keith Prince and James Lowell Prince both of Fallsburg, Ky., Kimberly Sue Ayers,Donna Lynnette Prince and Beverly Ann Moss all of Chicago, Illinois, and Sherry C. Spillman of Fallsburg, Ky.; one brother Jesse Donald Prince of South Bloomfield, Ohio; one sister Eunice Collen Prince of Cardington, Ohio; 25 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandschildren as well as many nieces, nephews, friends and extended family all of whom will cherish his memory.

Funeral Services will be held at the Fallsburg Tabernacle Church in Fallsburg on Saturday, May 28, 2016 at 2:00 pm with Pastor Greg Caudill officiating. Burial will follow at the Prince Family Cemetery in Fallsburg with military honors.

Visitation for family and friends will be at the church on Friday, May 27, 2016 from 6-9 pm.
