Sheriff Rick Thompson made an announcement earlier today involving the arrests of three suspects related to multiple burglaries in Wayne County.
The burglaries occurred between June 20 and July 15 of this year.
The first burglary was reported in February at a home on Tom’s Creek Road where a 32 Revolver was stolen after the suspects entered through a back door at the residence.
The second occurred on June 26 at a home on Wallace Drive, where several items were reported stolen including jewelry, credit and bank cards, check books and a 410 shot gun. The suspects gained access through a side door which they had forced open.
The third occurred again on Tom’s Creek Road in July when the son of a deceased resident had gone to check on things at the home. Upon arrival he discovered someone had broken in and taken jewelry and approximately $2,500 in cash.
Sheriff Thompson said that after a lengthy investigation following many leads, that Christopher Lucas, 27 of Wayne, W.VA, Cassandra Ward, 23 of Lavalette, W.VA., and James D. Rowe, 27 of Wayne, W.Va. have been arrested within the last week. They have been charged with multiple burglary and Grand Larceny which can carry a possible sentence of no less than one year or more than ten on each count.
Lucas was arrested by a Wayne County Corporal, Ward turned herself in to Wayne County Sheriff’s Department and Rowe was arrested by the US Marshals CUFFED Task Force Unit. All were taken to WRJ and are pending hearing.
