BULLDOGS WILL OPEN PLAYOFFS FRIDAY NIGHT AT HOME VERSUS KNOX CENTRAL

Louisa, Ky. — It’s playoff time in the bluegrass and the Lawrence Co. Bulldogs will be playing in the friendly confines of Luke Varney Jr. Memorial Stadium Friday night versus Knox Central.

The Dawgs are 7-3 and finished second in District 8 heading into the first round of the Class 3A playoffs and are on a high note after beating Class 4A Mason Co. 20-14 last Friday at home. 

Lawrence Co. averaged 26 points per contest on offense and only gave up 13.8 points on defense. 

The Bulldogs rushed for 1992 yards and passed for 1359 through the air. 

On defense they gave up 1283 on the ground and 1074 through the air.

Cody Crum is the leading rusher with 910 yards and found the end zone 8 times, Will McDavid finished with 510 yards and 4 touchdowns, Caven Williams had 290 yards and scored 4 times, Talon Pollack had 168 and scored three touchdowns, Eli Fletcher scored two touchdowns. 

Bulldog QB Talon Pollack threw for 1206 yards and 15 touchdowns in nine games, Luke Fetherolf started the opening week victory over Rowan Co. and finished with 153 yards and two touchdowns.

Carlo Chicko was the leading receiver with 32 receptions for 374 yards and 4 touchdowns, Dalton Runyons caught 13 passes for 349 yards and 4 touchdowns, Logan Ratliff caught 9 passes for 219 yards and 2 touchdowns, Jake Derifield caught 3 passes for 112 yards and two went for touchdowns, Cody Crum caught 6 passes for 80 yards and one touchdown, Abner Collinsworth 8 catches for 60 yards and one score. 

LC kicker Brayden Queen went 12 of 19 on point after touchdowns in the regular season. 

Cody Crum, Josh Spillman and Kaden Johnson recovered fumbles, Caven Williams, Talon Pollack and Johnson all had one interception each. 

#51 Blake Prater and #12 Dalton Runyons on Senior night.

For Knox Central who will be making the three hour drive to Louisa finished 5-5 in the regular season and third in the very competitive Class 3A District 7. 

The Panthers have lost two in row and fell against Middlesboro 57-28 on the road last Friday. 

Knox Central is scoring 30 points per game but is giving up 34 points per contest. 

They like to keep it on the ground and have rushed for 2668 yards and passed for 799 yards. 

#12 Steve Partin is the leading rusher with 1813 yards and 24 touchdowns in only 8 games, #33 Brayden Sizemore had 322 yards and scored twice. 

Panther QB Mason Griffith who wears #7 has thrown for 9 touchdowns and 709 yards through the air and finished with 6 touchdowns and 273 yards on the ground. 

#23 Nathan Dunn is the leading receiver with 378 yards and 6 touchdowns, #24 Jacob Smith has 29 catches and one score. 

The Panthers have not made an extra point or a field goal all season all long. 

The winner of this game will play the winner of Estill Co. ( 5-5 ) or Rockcastle Co. ( 9-1 ) who play in Mount Vernon on Thursday night.
