BULLDOGS LOSE ANOTHER SECOND HALF LEAD AND FALL TO FLOYD CENTRAL

Louisa, Ky Lawrence Co. ( 10-7 ) lost another close game this time a 59-54 defeat against Floyd Central ( 5-11 ) on Friday. 

The Dawgs are 2-1 in 58th District action with three games left. 

Sophie Adkins puts in two of her team high 17 points on Friday versus Floyd Central. 

Sophie Adkins led the Bulldogs with 17 points, Kaison Ward tallied 10 points, Leandra Curnutte added 8 points, Abby Nelson netted 7 points, Jada Patton had 6 points, Abby Maynard had 4 points and Hallie Adkins chipped in with 2 points. 

The Bulldogs hit 5 three pointers and went 5 off 10 from the free throw line. 

Leandra Curnutte brings the ball down the floor in the second half against Floyd Central. 

FCHS 12 13 15 19 = 59 

LCHS 22 11 10 11 = 54 

Weather permitting Lawrence Co. will play the #1 team in WVa Class 3A the undefeated Wayne Pioneers on Tuesday before a rematch at Floyd Central on Friday evening. 

#41 Jada Patton looks to make a move versus Floyd Central on Friday.

COACH’S COMMENTS

“… This was a tough one for us to lose. We struggled for 2 weeks here and have been playing uncharacteristic for our team. 

“…We had a great practice yesterday so we are just refocusing and regrouping and getting back to work. We’ve got a big week ahead of us so we’ve talked a lot about playing with that DAWG in us so that’s what we’re working to do. Get ourselves back on track.”
