LOUISA, KY — After winning 31 games last season and falling to eventual 15th Region champion Paintsville 3-2 in the semifinals the Lawrence Co. Bulldogs started off 2019 with a bang by out scoring Betsy Layne 31-0 in a double header sweep on Monday night to open up the season at the LCHS baseball diamond.

Lawrence Co. 11 Betsy Layne 0 ( Game One )
In the first game Sophomore Jacob Fletcher went four innings, allowed 3 hits, zero walks and struck out 7 Bobcats. Hunter Crum closed it out with 1 inning on the bump and struck out two, Crum also drove in three runs.
Offensively Freshman Bryce Blevins went 3-3 with three runs scored and two RBIs, Sophomore Ethan Whitt had 1 hit and drove in two runs, Junior Tyler Maynard tripled to lead off the game and scored a run, CJ Fairchild had 1 hit, scored twice and drove in 1 run. Senior Lucas Maynard had 1 hit and 1 RBI, Senior Austin Roe had 1 hit, Junior Samuel Collinsworth scored 1 run and drove in 1 run and Junior Jackson Feltner scored a run.
Lawrence Co. 20 Betsy Layne 0 ( Game Two )
The Dawgs scored 12 runs in the top of the first and 8 more in the top of the second to put away the Bobcats in three innings.
Jackson Feltner threw a three inning no hitter striking out five and walking one. Feltner also had 2 hits, 3 RBIs and scored 2 runs to help his cause.
Austin Roe went 3-3 with three doubles and 4 RBIs, Tyler Maynard had 2 hits including a double and scored 2 runs, Lucas Maynard had 2 hits and scored twice, CJ Fairchild scored 3 runs and drove in 1, Hunter Crum smacked a double and scored 2 runs, Bryce Blevins had 1 hit, 2 RBIs and scored twice, Jacob Fletcher had 1 hit, 1 RBI and scored 2 runs, Ethan Whitt had 1 hit, 2 RBIs, and scored twice, Freshman Brayden Maynard had 1 hit and 1 RBI.
The Bulldogs will travel to Johnson Central on Thursday evening.
