BULLDOG GIRLS PICK UP MUCH NEEDED ROAD WIN OVER MARTIN CO. AFTER LONG LAYOFF

Inez, Ky — After an eleven day layoff because of weather the Lawrence Co. Girls defeated Martin Co. 55-45 Tuesday night. 

Sophie Adkins was a perfect 10-10 from the charity stripe versus Martin Co. 

Sophie Adkins was a perfect 10-10 from the line.

Sophie Adkins went 10 for 10 from the free throw line and finished with a game high 24 points, Kaison Ward tallied 13 including 4 three pointers, Abby Nelson and Leandra Curnutte had 6 points each, Jada Patton added 4 points, Abby Maynard chipped in with 2 points. 

The Dawgs hit 8 three pointers and went 19 of 23 from the free throw line. 

Kaison Ward knocked down four triples in a road win over Martin Co. Tuesday. 

Kaison Ward had a ‘coming home’ party with four threes and a nice floor game

The Cardinals were led by Laken Williams with 19 points, Allysa Allen had 13 points, Katie Marcum had 8 points Brooklyn Marcum and Chloe May had 2 points each, Maci Maynard had 1 point.

Martin Co. hit 1 three pointer and went 9 of 15 from the free throw line. 

LCHS 13 9 16 18 = 55

MCHS 10 7 13 15 = 45 

The Bulldogs ( 11-7 ) will host District foe Prestonsburg ( 8-7 ) on Friday at 6:00. 

Martin Co. ( 13-6 ) will host District rival Paintsville ( 9-7 ) on Friday at 7:30.
