Louisa, Ky. —  Lawrence Co. Boys soccer celebrated Senior night with a 10-0 victory over Pikeville on Thursday.

2022 Bulldog Seniors

Matthew Clevenger and Logan Southers

Blake Maynard scored 6 goals and assisted on 1 goal. Sergio Caballero Garcia scored three times and had 4 assist. Sam LeFever scored once and assisted on another goal.

Landon Fairchild and Ryland Brady were in goal for Lawrence Co.

The Dawgs finished the regular season with a 8-4-2 record and will play Pikeville ( 3-10 ) in the first round of the 58th District tournament Tuesday at Belfry.

Lawrence Co. Head Coach Scott Johnson

COACH’S COMMENTS

“… Our offense has really been coming together over the last few weeks and we have been able to find the net. Defensively, our back four and goalie have been very disciplined and have pressured the ball consistently. We are playing some pretty good soccer right now heading into post season. I am excited to see what these boys can do next week at Belfry for the district championships on Tuesday and Thursday. With district realignment moving Prestonsburg into the 58th, we could see a familiar foe a little earlier in the post season than usual.”

“… Logan Southers has been an integral part of starting this LC soccer program. He has anchored our defense at center back since the very first game in 2018.”

“… Matthew Clevenger is the other half of our excellent center back duo. He has really stepped up this year and become an outstanding leader for this program.”
