PAINTSVILLE UTILITIES ISSUES BOIL WATER ADVISORY FOR THE BLAINE AREA IN SOUTHWESTERN LAWRENCE COUNTY MONDAY AFTERNOON

MONDAY, JANUARY 10, 2022 – written by WADE QUEEN
On Monday, January 10, 2022, just after 1:00 P.M., Paintsville Utilities in Johnson County, Kentucky issued a boil water advisory for the Blaine, Kentucky area in southwestern Lawrence County.

The boil water advisory message can be read below as it was issued by the Paintsville Utilities:

DUE TO A LINE BREAK, ALTHOUGH NO CONTAMINATION HAS BEEN CONFIRMED, PAINTSVILLE UTILITIES HAS VOLUNTARILY ISSUED A BOIL WATER ADVISORY FOR THE FOLLOWING AREAS:

BLAINE BEGINNING AT THE INTERSECTION OF KY RT 2562 AND KY RT 32 ALL THE WAY TO COMMUNITY MARKET,  KY RT 469 TO KY RT 1715 INCLUDING ALL OF KY RT 1715.

THIS ADVISORY IS BEING ISSUED AS A PRECAUTIONARY MEASURE AND IS IN EFFECT UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE.

Paintsville Utilities is advising all customers in the affected areas to boil their water before using it for drinking, making ice, cooking, washing, dishes, brushing teeth, or food preparation. Bring all water to a rolling boil, let it boil for three minutes, and let it cool before using. Boiling kills bacteria and other organisms in the water.
